Note. On later models, installation will require an explosive rivet gun and appropriate rivets.
Removing
1. Remove the wiper arm (see paragraph 13).
2. Remove the tailgate trim panel as described in chapter 11.
3. On early models, remove the three nuts securing the wiper motor bracket to the tailgate.
4. On later models, use a 8mm drill to carefully drill out the heads of the blast rivets that secure the wiper motor bracket to the door (pic. 15.4).

Warning. Be extremely careful not to damage the motor and tailgate when drilling out the rivets.
5. After unscrewing the three nuts or removing the three rivets, disconnect the electrical connector, disconnect the washer hose and remove the wiper motor from the tailgate. Be careful that the bushings do not fall out of the rubber motor mounts.
6. Remove the sealing sleeve of the wiper motor from the door glass.
7. If applicable, remove the remains of each rivet from the motor bracket/tailgate. Make sure that all rivet residues are removed.
Installation
8. Before installation, check the grommet and rubber mounts for signs of damage or deterioration and replace if necessary.
9. Install the rubber grommet correctly on the tailgate glass and properly install the rubber feet and bushings on the motor support bracket.
10. Move the wiper motor to its original position and secure it with nuts or new blast rivets.
11. Dock the electrical connector and connect the washer hose on the electric motor. and then install the trim panel on the tailgate. Switch on the ignition and then activate the wiper and allow it to stop at the base position.
12. Install the wiper arm as described in paragraph 13.
