To apply the parking brake, lift the lever all the way up. To reduce the force applied to the parking brake lever, depress the brake pedal at the same time. The parking brake must be applied when the vehicle is parked. For safety reasons, it is recommended to engage first gear, and if there is a steep slope, turn the wheels towards the curb. When the parking brake is activated and the ignition is on, the corresponding control lamp lights up on the instrument panel.
Note. If the vehicle is empty, the parking brake should hold it securely while lifting the brake lever three to four clicks. As the load increases and the slope increases, the number of clicks required to hold the vehicle will increase.
To release the parking brake, pull the lever up slightly, press the button on the end of the lever handle and lower the lever all the way down. The control lamp should go out. While doing this, depress the brake pedal to prevent accidental starting of the vehicle.
Attention! In emergency cases, when the working brake system has failed, the parking brake can be used as a backup to stop the car, but do not apply it all the way to avoid blocking the rear wheels and then skidding the car.
