Keys and code card
Using the keys supplied with the vehicle, you can independently open and close all vehicle doors, the fuel tank cap, deactivate the front passenger airbag, and turn on the ignition.
Warning. Never expose the keys to direct sunlight as this may damage the built-in electronic devices. Do not hit the keys hard or drop them, as this may cause malfunction of their electronic devices.
to the keys (pic. 21) a Citroen code card is enclosed containing the following information:
- key identification code that must be provided to the dealer to perform the immobilizer check (see below);
- mechanical key code, which must be provided to the dealer when ordering a new key
Pic. 21. Car keys with remote control buttons
Warning. To avoid loss, keep the code card in a safe place outside the vehicle.
Warning. When selling the car, be sure to hand over the complete set of keys and the code card to the new owner. And, conversely, when buying this car, ask the seller for all these essential car accessories.
Immobilizer
Every time the ignition is turned off, the immobilizer automatically blocks the car engine.
When the key is turned to the engine start position, the key code is checked, and starting is possible only when the code is accepted. If the key is not recognized by the system, a corresponding message appears on the multifunction display and the engine cannot be started. You should contact your dealer for help.
Warning. The normal exchange of information between the PATS receiver in the ignition lock and the ignition key may be obstructed by metal objects located on the same key fob. Avoid such escaping of the key.
Warning. Do not make unauthorized changes to the electronic immobilizer system.
Central locking system («central locking»)
The central locking system locks all doors when unlocking/locking through any of the front doors.
If any of the front doors or the tailgate is not closed, central locking will not work.
A corresponding button is provided to activate / deactivate central locking from the inside (see relevant paragraph in paragraph 2), located on the center console under the air vents. When the system is disabled by pressing this button, each car door can be opened from the inside.
This button can be used to activate automatic central locking. To activate this mode, press the button and hold it for a while. The doors will be automatically locked when the vehicle is moving, when the vehicle speed exceeds approximately 10 km/h. To turn off the automatic mode, press the button again and hold it for a while.
Note. When the ignition is off and the doors are locked, the indicator built into the button flashes. When the ignition is on and the doors are locked, the indicator built into the button lights up constantly.
Remote control of door locks
The remote control function is built into the key body. The remote control performs the same functions as the key, only from a distance.
To lock the car, press button 1 (pic. 21). When the vehicle is locked, the direction indicators light up permanently for approximately 2 seconds.
To unlock the vehicle, press button 2. When the vehicle is unlocked, the direction indicators will flash several times.
Note. If no doors are opened within 30 seconds of the remote control command to unlock the doors, all doors will be automatically locked again.

- Switch off the ignition.
- Turn on the ignition.
- Click on button 1 (pic. 21).
