Engine Overhaul — Assembly Sequence (Peugeot Partner I)

1. Before assembly, check that all new parts and necessary tools are available. Review the entire procedure to assess the nature of the work to be done and ensure that everything needed to assemble the engine is at hand. In addition to the usual tools and materials, a suitable thread locking compound will be required when assembling the engine. Joints that do not use gaskets will also require a good quality liquid sealant. Peugeot/Citroen recommends using in-house products that are specifically designed for each specific purpose (the names of the respective products are cited in the text of each paragraph as appropriate).

2. To save time and avoid unnecessary problems, it is recommended to assemble the engine in the following sequence, if necessary, referring to chapter 2A, unless otherwise stated:

• A) crankshaft (see paragraph 17);
• b) pistons with connecting rods (see paragraph 18);
• V) oil pump;
• G) oil pan;
• d) flywheel;
• e) cylinder head;
• and) timing belt, as well as the corresponding tension and toothed pulleys;
• h) external elements of the engine.

3. Before assembling the engine, make sure that all parts of the engine are absolutely clean and dry. All faults must be corrected. The elements must be laid out on a completely clean work surface (or should be in separate containers).
